Mercedes Maybach EQS SUV: Design and Interior

The Maybach EQS SUV shares its dimensions with the standard EQS but stands out with a signature Maybach waterfall grille featuring chrome-plated strips. Also, the panel, being made out of indium, allows radar beams to permeate through, so there’s no unsightly radar panel visible. The iconic three-pointed star moves to the bonnet, and an optional dual-tone paint scheme inputs trademark elegance.

Inside, the triple-screen layout remains, with Maybach-specific startup sequences and two 11.6-inch rear displays. Rear passengers get an MBUX tablet that can be used outside the vehicle.

Optional packages include the Chauffeur package for enhanced rear seating comfort and the First-Class Rear package, which features thermal cup holders, an MBUX tablet shelf, 4 USB-C ports, and 2 HDMI interfaces. Optional add-ons include folding tables, a cooling compartment and silver-plated champagne goblets.

In India, the Mercedes Maybach EQS SUV is only available in the 680 trim. Powered through a dual electric motor setup, the EQS 680 generates 658hp and 950Nm, enabling a 0-100kph sprint in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 210km/hr, through the 4Matic AWD tech as standard. It boasts a WLTP range of up to 611km. A 200kW DC fast charger can charge the 122kWh battery from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes, offering 300km of range with 20-minute charge.

This premium electric SUV has no direct rivals in India, though it competes with the Lotus Eletre on pricing.
