Stylish Sedan with Z-Series Engine

Fourth-gen Dzire turns the second Maruti to get the Z-Series petrol engine.

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the fourth-generation Dzire, set to hit showrooms on November 11. The made-for-India compact sedan debuts a new engine, updated styling, and a tech-rich cabin.

New Maruti Dzire: Design and Dimensions

The new Dzire measures 3,995mm in length, 1,735mm in width, and 1,525mm in height, with a 2,450mm wheelbase and a 163mm ground clearance (10mm higher than predecessor). It sports a completely revamped design front with flat hood with subtle creases at each corner.

The “crystal vision” headlamps are audi-inspired with a larger hexagonal grille, squarish tail lamps with “3D Trinity LED elements, six horizontal slits and chrome touches. 

A refined roofline, skinned panels, contoured doors, alloy wheels with diamond-cut(high spec), and LED tail-lamps further enhance its look.

New Maruti Dzire: Interior & Features

Inside, the Dzire adopts Swift aesthetics, sharing the same dashboard with the beige theme and dark brown accents, faux wood, and brushed aluminium. However, Dzire features a four-shade layout instead of the black and silver shade of the Swift.

Shared features with the Swift include a multifunction steering wheel, analogue dials, HVAC controls and AC vents. The standard 9-inch Smartplay Pro Plus touch infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connects the car tech. 

New additions include a factory-fitted sunroof for the first time in history for an under-four-metre compact sedan. Higher variants feature cruise control, rear AC vents, rear armrest, and a 360° camera first time too.

Safety is enhanced with six airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, three-point seat belts for all seats and ISOFIX mounts. The standard rear defogger is retained for all variants.

New Maruti Dzire: Performance and Powertrain

The Dzire now runs on the Swift’s new Z12E 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, producing 82hp and 111.7Nm, paired with a five-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. The preceeding Dzire came with a more powerful 90hp, 113Nm 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-Series engine.

The Dzire comes with an idle start/stop feature for both manual and automatic gearbox-equipped variants with the CNG Dzire variant expected soon.

New Maruti Dzire: Rivals and Market Position

New Dzire competes directly with the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze(full model change expected in coming months). 

Deliveries for Maruti Dzire are expected to begin by mid-November.
